In La Val in Alta Badia, winter covers the entire village in a soft white mantle, enveloping and involving you in a magical atmosphere. It is located between the famous ski areas of Plan de Corones, Sellaronda and Alta Badia, which can be easily reached thanks to the ski lift system.

The Armentara slope, near the town of La Valle, winds through meadows and forests offering a unique panorama in the world. With its 7300 meters is ideal for lovers of cross-country skiing. You can enjoy the peace, silence and clean air finding yourself and your natural balance.

For those who do not like skiing, ice skating and tobogganing could be a good alternative. In just a few minutes you can reach the 1.6 km Armentara toboggan run, which is completely surrounded by nature and offers a fantastic view of the Sasso di Santa Croce.

Hiking is at home in La Valle. In fact, the Ladin village was awarded the certification of “Land of Hikers” in 2015. Depending on your needs, you can choose from no less than five certified trails that will lead you to discover the village, the Ladin farms and much more.

Definitely worth mentioning is the “Tru di Pra”, the mountain meadow path that will lead you to discover the Armentara meadows. The extraordinary beauty of the Dolomites, the 197 species of flower, and the lush green slopes will accompany you on hikes for a nature holiday. Thanks to the numerous pet-friendly hotels in Alta Badia, you can discover this enchanting village accompanied by your four-legged friend.

During the summer season there is a half marathon. Starting from La Valle, you can follow the most interesting trails, where what counts is not speed, but the beauty of the places you pass through.

La Valle in Alta Badia: what to see?

La Valle is also renowned for its local architecture. Everywhere in the village you can admire the typical “Les Viles”, the typical houses of the ladin farmers.

Starting from the centre and the numerous hotels, in a few minutes, you can reach the church of Santa Barbara, which towers above the village with its charming atmosphere. The building was built in 1491 by miners extracting ore from Monte Pore.

Do not miss the event “Sonns y Saus de Armentara”. Every year in September, the meadows are covered with Ladin specialities, music from local choirs, folklore and much more. You will find yourself immersed in a world of memories, history and traditions. In La Valle, in fact, numerous events are organised to give you a taste of the true Ladin spirit.
